Who are we?

Who are we? Who are we? Who are we?

The Central Learning Partnership (CLP) in Nottingham, are a group of 18 forward thinking member schools who believe in the mutual benefit of partnership working.

The CLP (Nottingham) was set up in order to support families and children within our schools who were disproportionately affected in some way by income deprivation. We are a dynamic and forward thinking group of 18 member educational establishments in the Central area of the City of Nottingham within the East Midlands region.

The foundation for our work is built on the need to reduce the impacts of social deprivation on children's learning. The CLP believes in working in partnership to deliver planned and discrete interventions to support educational attainment, which is helping to raise standards and improve outcomes for all children and young people.

The CLP aspires to develop school improvement in Nottingham and the East Midlands region through joint practice development, peer evaluation, networking and the sharing of skills & knowledge. To this end the CLP has made a strong commitment to raise attainment within its schools by using the wealth of expertise within its membership.

School leaders can see the benefit of the CLP as a useful network to access good quality support, advice & guidance and have shaped the programme to: help improve schools, extend the curriculum and increase the range and quality of learning opportunities for their pupils. However the main focus has definitely been on working in partnership to share the expertise of advanced skills practitioners – with the CLP having well-developed systems in place to enable this.

In 2015/16 the focus of the CLPs work was on 3 main projects:

Computing and the new curriculum; An inter-schools sports extravaganza; and Character Building

In 2016/17 the focus of the CLPs work is on:

Assessment

Character Building
